The 80 reunion came to a great but regrettable end on Sunday afternoon after a Family Fun Day at Tropical Beach, White House, behind the airport runway.
The ‘bar-tuffs’- Gary Vassell, Elton Dexter and Richie Rerrie along with Sickko and Tommy Thompson and food concessionaires had their hands full while the attendees kept their stomachs filled and well ‘hydrated’ with the many flavours of liquid refreshment available.
The new ‘Ready a Ready’ natural fruit juices that are marketed by West Best Foods in Darliston, Westmoreland, was a hit, especially the Mango Juice and Irish Moss. Old Boy Dave Watkin had donated them to the effort and we are sure those who sampled them on Sunday will be sure to get more when they go grocery shopping.
Understandably the event got off to a slow start following Saturday night’s session that went on to the early morning hours and/or the church service earlier in the day.
Once it got going however, it was a memorable one with a fashion show and a comedy revue by ‘Blacka’ Ellis that had everyone one in stitches.
Local actress and theatre personality Denise Hunt, also of ‘Rising Stars’ fame was a welcomed addition to the day’s events as she made sure every one was entertained.
Of course with long drives back to Kingston and other places and for some flights back home, many came early and left early but up to after 8:00pm when Junior Woolery and Chris Chow turned up, the bar and food people were still doing great business.
Already there are many calls for another ‘reunion’ next year as the vibes were great at this year’s first try.
