Vintage Dolls Prams: Wonderful Gifts for Little Girls
If you have a young girl in your family, perhaps a daughter or niece, and she’s between the age of 4 and 10, you may be considering what to give her for a gift. Of course you want something that she doesn’t already have but little girls start collecting dolls almost from birth, and doll houses seem to come to them about just as frequently. There is something that is fairly rare that can be a great addition to their already huge collection of dolls though.
As soon as they are able to stand on two legs, little girls immediately begin to imitate their mums in particular. If mum opens the jar, she wants to open the jar. If mum puts on a necklace, she wants to put on a necklace, etc. This pattern carries over into pushchairs and prams as well. Especially if a little girl has a sibling that is often taken to and fro in a pram. So since most little girls just love dolls and love to imitate their mum as well, there’s almost no better gift you can give them than a dolls pram.
There are some people that believe it’s not good to encourage child care among young girls, but I personally see nothing wrong with a little girl extending her love to a doll and emulating a Loving Family member. It seems to me that pretending to be a loving mum is much better for them than many of the things we allow our sons to do (shooting guns, portraying murder, etc.). I almost venture to say that if our little boys were to put down the gun, bows, arrows, tanks and fighter aircraft, we might even have a more civilized world, but regardless of that probability, the fact remains that girls love dolls prams and they make great additions to their wonderful world of dolls.
There are some beautiful vintage dolls prams that are hand made, hand painted and even in limited edition. That means that not only will it have value now, but probably will increase in value as well. Vintage dolls prams typically have an old fashioned look yet there are some that are very elegant in appearance and have features such as chrome spoked wheels, reclining hoods and matching aprons and are even lined with beautiful upholstery.
Besides the beautiful vintage dolls prams there are also wood dolls prams you can purchase. These are exceptionally good because they tend to last a long time and can withstand a lot of falling and bumping. Wooden dolls prams come in various finishes, but also come in painted models that may be more appealing to your little girl as well. When you are looking for a nice doll pram for your little girl, look for one that has an adjustable handle so that it can be adjusted as your child grows.
Plastic Dolls prams are your least expensive ones, but they’re also going to be your less beautiful ones and they will not last nearly as long as the vintage dolls prams or the wooden ones.
All in all, no matter which kind you select, dolls prams make great gifts for little girls and help them expand their loving world of dolls.
